Since 2008 Saving Abel has embodied the definition of "Southern Rock." Even before their "Self Titled" debut LP, they were barnstorming the country making fans everywhere they went, just by being themselves. Simple, down home, charming, country-boys with immeasurable talent that was destined to take them straight to the top.

January 30, 2015 7:45 AM

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending. Carl Bard On behalf of the CAP Tulsa Board of Directors, we invite you to join us for a fresh start in 2015! Sunny Side UP, our inaugural event benefitting CAP Tulsa's Family Advancement Program, will take place the morning of Friday, January 30, 2015 at the historic Cain's Ballroom.  Keynote Speaker: Stacey Bess In addition to a delectable breakfast buffet, and great local music, this year's program will feature acclaimed, bestselling author, Stacey Bess. Stacey is a motivational educator and author who speaks on the importance of service, mentorship and leadership, and overcoming adversity. Drawing on her fascinating and inspirational personal story - teaching homeless children in a small shed known as The School with No Name - she offers powerful insights and lessons that audiences yearning to make a difference can apply to their community or organization. Her memoir Nobody Don't Love Nobody, was adapted into the April 2011 Hallmark Hall of Fame movie Beyond the Blackboard starring Emily VanCamp. Support an important local cause Not only will you be inspired, you will learn more about the developments of CAP Tulsa's Family Advancement Program and hear about how this innovative approach is improving the prospects of families with young children across Tulsa. All proceeds will ensure that this much needed program is available to vulnerable families who are working to create a better future for their children. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Duncan, Director of Donor Relations at hduncan@captulsa.org or 918.382.3273. We hope you will start off your New Year right by joining us for Sunny Side UP 2015. This will be an inspiring morning and a great opportunity to support an important local cause.
