Hidden Gunn Golf & Driving Range is an economically priced par-3, nine-hole course located on a flat plot of ground. The small greens demand more accuracy. But the fairways are narrow, although one would hope not to spend much time in them on a par-3 course. Holes here rarely reach 100 yards in length, totaling 805 in all. It's mostly short irons and putting. This is a public golf course. Metal spikes are tolerated, but not encouraged.
The original nine holes at Rocky Point Golf Course were designed by Willie Black in 1910. The course has endured a number of redesigns, the last one by Ron Garl in 1983. The course is short and of average difficulty. There is a considerable amount of sand, and water is in play on 10 holes. This is a public golf course. Metal spikes are tolerated, but not encouraged.
These two Ed Ault nines, like the other combinations at Carrolwood, aren't overly long or difficult, at par 72 and 6429 yards from the middle tees. But they do command respect just the same. There is enough sand and water to complicate your journey around the course, along with just enough length to require good play from the tees. The Cypress nine is very narrow in spots and has some out of bounds; the Pines holds some length and boasts more water. Carrolwood Village Golf & Tennis Club-Pines/Cypress Course is a private golf course. Soft spikes only.

Carrolwood Village Golf & Tennis Club at par 72 and 6335 yards from the middle tees, makes for a sturdy test of golf. Designed by Ed Ault, this course is made up of the hardest and easiest nines on the property. The Meadows nine is short and easy while the Pines has some length, some tough par-4s, and considerably more water. There is also a good deal of sand about, so be wary. The greens are capable of fooling you if you aren't paying attention.
At par 70 and 6163 yards, Babe Zaharias Golf Course is a short but tight venue. There is a considerable amount of out-of-bounds to be avoided, and obviously, accuracy is key. The par-5s are very short and the par-3s are all of average distance. There are three longish par-4s, but they can all be defused with a good tee shot. This is a public golf course. Metal spikes are tolerated, but not encouraged. Open daily 7am onwards.
This par-61 3108-yard executive layout has a number of gentle hills that influence play. The greens continue the uneven theme and provide some sizeable breaks on a number of putts. Water is present on occasion. The par-4s are generally in the 300 to 320-yard range. Several are shorter. The par-3s measure from 69 to 195 yards. The wide variety of holes and lengths makes for an interesting round. Countryway Golf Club is a semi-private golf course. Metal spikes are tolerated, but not encouraged.
This magnificent par-72 course is kept in great shape. Essentially an open, flat layout, this course makes up for it with diabolical greens that are quick and sloping. The Old Memorial Golf Club course is on the long side (6958 yards from the middle tees; 7236 yards from the back) and is ultimately pretty tough. There is some water in play, along with quite a few sand traps defining the fairways and defending the greens. There are no ladies' tees at this facility. This is a private golf course. Soft spikes only. Caddies are mandatory.
Located in northwest Tampa, Westchase is one of the better upscale courses in the Bay area. The natural setting and the well manicured fairways and greens of this course surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads are what set it apart. The front nine gives off a tree-lined Carolina look and the back features water hazards galore. But, more than anything, you'll appreciate the fabulous playing conditions of this layout brought to life by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton golf design group. The greens are large averaging more than 5,000 square feet, are gently contoured and a pleasure to putt on. The golf club is home to various golfing events from time to time. You can also host private events and parties at this venue. Check website for more details.
