Established in 1851, Mount Mora Cemetery is the oldest burial ground that's still in operation, in the city. Mount Mora was one of the most prominent burial grounds during the city's heydays, catering to its illustrious, rich and famous citizens. A prominent feature of the cemetery is the flamboyant art and architecture on the tombstones. The Mausoleum Row within the cemetery features the tombs of some of the city's most prominent figures.
This library provides numerous books, magazines, CDs, videocassettes, audiocassettes, prints, and audiovisual equipment. They also provide children and adult services including book talks, storytimes, and a summer reading program for children.
The Pony Express Stables is a historic site situated in the city of St. Joseph in the U.S. State of Missouri. It was the terminus of the Pony Express on the eastern side. This site was later transformed into the Pony Express Museum that displays exhibits pertaining to the history and overall functioning of the mail service.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this beautifully constructed courthouse is a rare example of late 1800's architectural design.
A National Historic Landmark, this stone and brick building was the oldest building west of the Mississippi to be continuously used for banking purposes. Features include cast iron pillars, ornate carved oak woodwork, historic teller cages, and a vault reinforced with railroad rails.
Savannah's public library is normally open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 p.m. Saturdays, and on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
