Once you settle down, order for the Dynamite Scallops and Sicilian Calamari for appetizers as well as Martha's Vineyard Salad and move on to the signature fish delicacies like Salmon Rockefeller, Cedar Planked Salmon and Dynamite Mahi Mahi. The restaurant also serves succulent steaks and pastas. As for the drinks, you can enjoy the variety of cocktails and martinis, as well as selections of wines from the bar. Restricting yourself to a few drinks may well be frowned upon by the patrons at Limit Cocktail Lounge. Part of the Novi nightlife scene, the club first opened its doors in 1998. For over a decade, Detroit natives have frequented the place and have left it smiling (and, not to mention, completely sloshed). While the service is scarce, orders are taken quickly and promptly. Smokers who plan to quit will like the non-smoking policy instilled at the club.
This charming local coffee shop is part of The Artist Village, a family-friendly community center that offers a wide range of activities including dance classes, poetry readings and art exhibitions. The coffee itself is top notch, and the shop also offers an array of pastries, sandwiches and other light fare. Conveniently located, it is frequented by locals trying to relax after a hard day's work and indulge in some good humored revelry. The menu consists of locally popular dishes and the bar houses some of the best brewed beers on tap. Worth mentioning are its St. Patty's Day celebrations that go on way past the regular closing time. If you want to have a good time, the way all-knowing locals do, head to Duggan's right away.
See great jazz performances at The Jazz Club. They also offer a selection of dinner items.
Soul food goes upscale in this small, hip restaurant in the suburban Sunset Strip mall along bustling Northwestern Highway. The food is true to its Southern home-cooking roots, with Hoppin' John, Farm Raised Catfish Filet, Harlem Burrito and Grilled Cajun Pork Chop. But the owners have added some trendy and tasteful additions, such as Shrimp & Grits and Tempura Lobster Tails. In the hushed dark-green-and-purple dining room, quiet rhythm-and-blues and jazz tunes fill the air.
Ray's Ice Cream has been family owned and operated since 1958. Located in Royal Oak, this quaint shop is a homey blast from the past. All their ice cream is made in house, and they feature flavors such as Mackinac Island Fudge, Detroit Club Coffee, Orange Pineapple, White Russian and Huckleberry. Prices are a bit higher than what you might expect for an ice cream parlor, but the portions are huge and warrant the extra cost.
Ronin restaurant and a sushi bar is home to some mighty fine deishes. As with any popular restaurant, you will likely have to endure some time and wait to be seated. However, be rest assured that it will all be worth it. A wide selection of sushi rolls include vegetarian rolls among the fish specials. Great service by the wait-staff round out an exquisite experience.
There's no Gracie to greet you here, but there's a choice of more than 30 Martinis and lots of cigars to puff away the blues. Surely that won't make you utter good night soon. The lounge is dark and velvet draped, which explains the suave 40s look. The Cherry Cheesecake though takes the cake, literally!
