The tiny islands dotting the lake are a scenic natural touch and accessible via water transportation. It offers an array of recreational facilities including 26 resorts, 12 marinas, hundreds of campgrounds, two state parks, two wildlife refuges and exquisite golf courses. Amenities and adventure sports like water-skiing, boating and wind surfing are very popular. The lake provides ample services and conveniences to the public and is a great getaway destination.
Although it is a historical building, the home on Wildscape Acres did not always stand there; it was relocated to this 165-acre (66.773 hectare) space in an attempt to avoid its demolition. The move has paid off, with the house adding a wonderful historic charm to Wildscape Acres, where there is a focus on learning to coexist peacefully with our surroundings. Wildscape Acres is involved with the Texas Wildlife Management Program, and people of all ages have much to learn here. The Harmony House Concerts is one of the most interesting facets of this place, and previous performers have included the likes of Bill Staines, Buddy Mondlock and Susan Herndon.
