Kacey Musgraves is a country singer/songwriter from Mineola, Texas, who might best be known for competing on the fifth season of the televised singing competition Nashville Star in 2007.Though Musgraves placed seventh in the competition, the exposure helped introduce her music to a wide audience. Musgraves' breakout 2013 album, Same Trailer Different Park, helped further expand her fan base and expose many more people to her characteristic style of pop-infused, modern country material.

During the 1990s, the American public fell in love with swing music. While it's difficult to point the finger at any one cultural trend that would make people fall for a nostalgic style of music, there are a few bands that can act as culprits - one band being Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The group formed in 1989 in Ventura, California and after achieving mainstream success, (even playing a Super Bowl half-time show in 1999) the band returned to relative obscurity. But the band still continues to tour and release new material on a fairly consistent basis despite being nowhere near the center of the cultural lexicon.

    George Lopez
    The Majestic TheatreOctober 25, 2014 8:00 PM

    San Antonio, TX 78205
Probably best known as the producer, star and writer of his eponymously-titled television sitcom, George Lopez is one of the more prominent Mexican-American comedians who isn't afraid to touch on subjects that some might consider taboo. The Los Angeles-based comedian got his start on the stand up circuit and shortly managed to build up enough steam for television insiders to notice him. With the sever lack of Mexican-American comedies on television, some thought that it was time to give Lopez a show of his own so he could latch on to a large demographic that has historically gone untapped. George Lopez premiered on ABC in 2002 and had a successful run of six seasons. After the show concluded in 2007, Lopez went on to host a short-lived talk show called Lopez Tonight. Though he can be found making cameo apparences in various television shows and movies, Lopez has gone back to performing the one thing that helped break him in the world of showbiz: stand-up comedy.
