With its clubhouse just yards from the World Golf Hall of Fame, The Slammer and The Squire meanders naturally through native flatwoods and hardwood hammocks, and bordering wetland preserves and wildlife habitat. The course is nestled into the existing surroundings so as not to disturb the area's pristine natural setting. In the spirit of the World Golf Village mission, The Slammer and The Squire will be challenging without unfairly penalizing the inexperienced player. The Village is centered around the World Golf Hall of Fame, an all-encompassing look at the history and tradition behind the game of golf, with interactive exhibits and biographies of the game's top players. A six-story-tall IMAX screen and impressive sound system make visitors feel a part of the experience unfolding on the screen. The Arthur Hills design meanders through hardwood forests and along marshland preserves for beautiful scenery and topography. The Intracoastal serves as a stunning backdrop for greens six and sixteen. Strategic shot-making is rewarded throughout the course, especially on the four unique and demanding par fives, including the ninth and eighteenth holes. The 7,100-yard layout respects the beauty and fragility of the natural environment and shares the landscape with the many native and migratory species. St Johns Golf & Country Club is located in the northwest corner of St. Johns County, Florida, minutes from Jacksonville, World Golf Village and St. Augustine. This par 72 18-hole championship course ranges from 5,286 to 7,236 yards. This public course is part of the 820-acre St. Johns Golf & Country Club master planned community, which features 799 home sites, a family sports center, and a host of other amenities.
Designed by Mark McCumber, this course covers more than 7,000 acres of beautiful Florida woodlands and wetlands. Both championship golfers and beginners will find that the course offers natural challenges, while still encouraging novices with expansive greens and fairways. Six tees are available. The course is open to the public year-round and is located one exit north of the World Golf Village off I-95 in St Augustine. Greens fees include golf cart rental depending on the season. No previous pilot experience is required. Well-trained licensed pilots accompany you, and their job is to provide you with a safe, enjoyable flight.
