A gem of a restaurant on the Sacramento river, the Pearl never drifts away from delighting its visitors with awesome American delicacies and spectacular views. The menu of the restaurant is seasonal, which is curated by the expert chef Matthew Jones. The seafood and steak delicacies are prepared using fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Be it the small plates like Grilled Oysters, Bruschetta with Fresh Fig and the famous Bowl of Clam Chowder or the big plates like New York Strip Steak Grilled and Pan Seared Scallops, you can vouch on it for quality as well as regional flavors. Complementing the food menu is the excellent wine and champagne list, which has varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Blanc de Noirs and Chardonnay offered by the glass. Choose a table next to the window to enjoy the splendid views of the river.
This bar has red velvet and gold wallpaper, deep black leather booths and romantic lighting. Friday and Saturday nights local bands, dressed in their “lounge lizard” finery, perform excellent renditions of some of the Rat Pack's signature songs. Patsy Cline and other torch singers are paid their due as well. Prominent blues bands have also been known to stop by and bring an electric charge to the atmosphere. Food is available during breakfast and lunch.

Among the numerous Tiffany lamps under intricate stained glass windows, tourists and locals gather for light lunches, weekend brunch, drinks and conversation at the authentic mid-19th century tables. In addition to the lean and tasty ostrich burgers, the menu offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups and appetizers. Steak and seafood entrees are an interesting mix of American, Cajun and Italian cuisine.
Located on the riverbank Marina, Crawdads River Cantina is the best place for live music and great food. The menu constitutes of chicken and spinach quesadillas, coconut shrimp, garlic steak sandwich or homemade deserts such as peach melba sundae. They have happy hours from Monday to Friday from 3p to 6p and on Sundays from 10:30a to 1p. Crawdads is known for their impeccable service. Summers are the best to spend here especially with the view of the river and with the cool breeze blowing away.
Nestled in the midst of a number of small shops and candy stores, Ten22 is a hidden gem in the old Sacramento area. Those lucky ones who have managed to find it on their first visit get to relish on the American delicacies served in a bright and airy setup, that stretches on to its patio. A must visit spot for those looking for an outdoor dining spot for lunch or dinner during summers. The menu is extensive and comprises the regular fare like BBQ Oysters and Sausages, Housemade Salami and Provolone Pizzas and an array of starters. And that's not all, as the bar inside Ten22 has a variety of beers on tap, that would give most of the beer bars in the city a run for their money. Live music is scheduled every Friday and Saturday, to complement your time here. A delight for the after-work crowd, the bar extends its weekdays happy hour till close time. Fanny Anne's Saloon is an old-fashioned beer and burger joint. The saloon features a Main Bar on the ground floor and a game and bar area on the floor above. But there is no way to describe the memorabilia hanging from the walls and staring at you (like a moose head!). Besides beer, mixed drinks, and shots, the place makes a really good hamburger. The crowd is friendly and often pretty loud.
Sunsets are especially picturesque from the outdoor patio at Rio City Cafe. The interior features creamy plaster trimmed with blond wood, a long bar, white tablecloths and tall windows. In harmony with the natural beauty of the restaurant and its location, the menu features seafood entrees such as Roasted Salmon and Dungeness crab cakes as an appetizer. The beef lover will want to try the New York Steak or Prime Rib. The wine list is extensive and you can purchase wine by the glass or bottle.
This cozy pub features a variety of Irish ales and a decent sandwich menu. There is Guinness, of course and Caffrey's, Bass and several others on tap. The O'Mally's Amber, a distinctive micro brew with a touch of bitter and a smooth finish, is recommended. The sandwiches include a generous Philly cheese steak and various burgers. The corned beef and cabbage with red potatoes melts in your mouth. There is ESPN on the TV, a regulation pool table in the back room, and darts.
This comedy club is a venue for entertainment and corporate gatherings along with food and drinks. The main attraction is the comedy show which usually begins at 8p on Sundays and Thursdays. There are two shows at 8p and 10:30p on Fridays and Saturdays. Vodka, Gin, Peach Schnapps, Margaritas, Ales, Sandwiches and salads are available. Besides entertainment, the club also offers the venue for charity events.
This dining spot called River City Brewing Company keeps diners cool with its high ceilings, and its earth-tone decor is relaxing. Through the front door, a host waits to seat you at one of the dining tables. The menu ranges from pizza—which the chefs deftly toss in the open kitchen in the rear, to steaks, chicken and other entrees. Along one wall is a full bar, which is a pleasant place to try one of the house special microbrews while waiting for a table.
Tucked away below the L Street mall, the Pre-Flite Lounge is one of Sacramento's best known and popular, 'secrets'. Once a bustling street of airline carriers, travelers would visit the area to purchase airline tickets and drop into this popular lounge for a pre-flight drink. The iconic heavy wood doors are still the original from 1972 as is many of the kitschy items found throughout. Today the lounge is still a popular gathering place where the bartenders know you by name.
If you want to really impress a guest who likes plenty of red meat served in a clubby environment at wallet-busting prices, take them to Morton's. This elegant downtown spot features a wide variety of excellent meat dishes like filet mignon (with Bearnaise sauce and potatoes Lyonnaise with caramelized onions), or just a good old steak. A full service bar offers a variety of beverages including the special house Martini.
