The Wichita Wingnuts is an American baseball team that competes in the independent American Association of Independent Professional Baseball league. Founded in 2008, the team hosts in home games at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, Kansas. The Wingnuts advanced to the American Association Championship Series in 2012, but was defeated by the Winnipeg Goldeyes.

Anyone who decries the seminal power pop band Cheap Trick for being overtly keen to indulge itself with its infectious, hook friendly sound is onto something. The band's tunes are ridiculously catchy and immediately after hearing a few songs, they beg for repeated listens. The four piece got its start in 1974 and with a few decades under its belt spent in the studio and on tour, the band has honed its sonic approach and grown into one of the more powerful American bands in existence.

Hunter Hayes is a country music singer/songwriter from Nashville who came into the spot light after being signed to Atlantic Records in 2011. Hayes recevied an accordion, his first musical instrument, at the age of two and by the time he was four years old, he began appearing at local performances and on national television. On his first album with a major label, a self-titled effort released in 2011, he played every instrument and co-produced the finished product with Dann Huff. In addition to his instrument repertoire, Hayes' vocals earned him comparisons to Gary Levox, the lead singer of Rascal Flatts who Hayes had previous worked with. Along with singer and actress Victoria Justice, Hayes recorded the 1984 hit "Almost Paradise" for the 2011 remake of Footloose.

Merchandise is a post punk band from Tampa, FL that has built a cult following in the underground punk scene since 2008. The three-piece band released its first album Terminal Jagger Jane's Addiction Boxset, in 2009 and has since perfected an ambitious brand of punk music that is best heard in one of its storage unit shows. Following the release of its 2012 album Children of Desire, Merchandise embarked on a coast-to-coast North American tour.

Texas songwriter Lyle Lovett has had a prolific music career, which began in 1980. He hasn't confined himself strictly to music; he has appeared in numerous movies and sitcoms over the years, including "Mad About You" and "Dharma and Greg." His songs often center around the lyrics, which he has an incredible skill for crafting. His style is diverse, and he can play traditional folk or Americana as easily as pop rock.

Denton, Texas-based band Eli Young Band is a country music outfit that was formed in 2000. The band released its self-titled debut album in 2002, followed by its first Carnival Records release,Level, in 2005. Despite a rigorous touring schedule during the mid-2000s, Eli Young Band dedicated all of its spare time to songwriting and eventually came up with the material for its 2008 studio album,Jet Black & Jealous. Released with Universal South Records, the album spawned several singles, including the commercial hit "Always the Love Songs."

Amarillo, Texas born country singer Aaron Watson had aspirations of becoming a baseball player before deciding to switch gears and focus on music during junior college. He found inspiration from old gospel records and the work of outlaw country artists such as Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. The results his career has yielded thus far, however, would fit more comfortably in the pop-country genre, with polished and catchy songs full of the kind of nostalgic and lovesick lyrics modern country fans go nuts for.

Chris Young is a Tennessee-based country musician who was declared the winner of the reality television program Nashville Star in 2006. From an early age Young displayed a knack for performing, acting in several school plays as a child, and becoming an accomplished guitarist and singer, who could also write his own original songs. While enrolled in college, Young managed to tour frequently and play a large amount of shows around the country while maintaining his scholastic schedule. After performing in Arlington, Texas, an admirer of Young's music came up to him and suggested that he try out for a reality TV show that would spotlight budding country musicians. After auditioning and catching the eyes of judges, as well as American audiences, with his characteristic style of down home country pop, Young progressed through the show's final rounds until he was crowned winner. He released his eponymously titled debut LP in 2006 and since then Young has maintained a respectable level of attention amongst country music listeners for his catchy and heartfelt songs.
