The Far West Nightclub is a Mexican themed nightclub located in the city of Dallas. The atmosphere here is great and the sound and lighting is fantastic. Owner Costa Arabatzis comes from a Greek and Italian heritage. He opened this contemporary Greek café in 1994. The brilliant white walls, elegant mirrors and black and white floors complementing the dark wood tables and chairs create a luxurious ambiance. The European-style garden patio and fountain provide a wonderful outdoor setting. Ziziki's features wonderfully delicious Mediterranean cuisine—try the Greek island chicken, a delightful entree spiced with rosemary, garlic and Greek seasonings.
Trece, Spanish for 13, is located within the former Sipango space and is an experience not to be missed. The talented chef spent more than 20 years at the world-renowned Mansion on Turtle Creek and the selections offer more than just Tex-Mex or authentic Mexican regional dishes. With a menu heavily favoring lobster, you can sample dishes like Lobster Nachos with Jalapeno Jelly, Lobster Mango Margarita or Lobster Crepes. Entrees include Halibut encrusted with Pumpkin Seed and Tangerine Sauce, Grilled Cubed Beef Tenderloin and you can finish off with deserts of Roasted Peaches with Caramelized Bananas. The tequila bar offers more than 120 tequilas with decadent cocktails such as the Cucumber-Lavender Mojito. Dress accordingly for this “to see and be seen” crowd.
The authentic food served here reflects the owner's frequent travels to Spain. The atmosphere is lively and casual, with outside tables to enjoy the sunshine. The offering of 25 various tapas changes on a daily basis, so although you may not find your previous favorite, you may be pleasantly surprised the next time around. Selections may include rabbit, quail, oxtail stew and other Spanish delicacies, as well as a variety of all-vegetable dishes. The all-Spanish wine list here earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Home-made desserts are another specialty you won't want to miss. Reservations are not accepted, so plan to stay a while for an excellent meal that is worth the wait.
Lakewood Landing is more upscale than they care to admit. Everyone in town knows the babe behind the bar. Lucille, working on her 31st year at the Landing, is more legendary than the mermaid mural on the side of the building. Tables and a few booths provide a place to munch on burgers or kick back a beer or two. A jukebox with hits from the 1970s to the 1990s provides entertainment when live events aren't scheduled. If billiards is your hobby, you're sure to find a game here. Typical bar menu with burgers, nachos and fried everything. The telltale sign that this is not any old hole-in-the-wall is the veggie burger on the menu. The chicken-fried steak is wonderful for those not counting calories.
