The First Christian Church of Lubbock, Texas seeks to help individuals in building a a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. It has separate ministries for children, youth, college students and adults which conduct frequent bible study sessions and mission groups. There is a family center at the church where members can enjoy activities like ping-pong, Foosball, pool and the facilities of a full-size gym. The music program at the church is quite extensive with modern, traditional, instrumental and vocal music played by the Sanctuary Choir, LifeSong Student Ensemble, the Jesus Jammer's Children's Choir, and the Alleluia Ringers. First Baptist Church (FBC) is located at 2201 Broadway and is a close neighbor of the First Christian Church. The church has an expansive structure which houses a wonderful chapel which is furnished with elegant wooden pews; hues of white dominate the chapel and through the stained-glass windows, sunlight flows in abundantly. Their chapel is also used as an entertainment venue for local events which are specially music centered. Prayer rooms can accommodate an impressive number of worshipers, where groups and Bible studies take place. The church is also instrumental in bringing about community development through events like picnics, sports, plays, recitals etc.
