Located in Glendale, Arizona, The Legend at Arrowhead golf course is an Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay-designed golf course that is traditional in style. At over 7,000 yards, this can be a rather challenging golf course, especially when windy. The course is beautiful, and all of the holes, with the exception of one, have sand bunkers on the fairways or around the greens. Although water is a hazard on nine holes, most fairways offer generous landing areas. Opens at 6a.

Return to an earlier time when you visit Sahuaro Ranch Park, a lovely historic park built in the 1890s. Seven original buildings set on 16-acres are home to rabbits, chickens and peacocks. Originally a citrus farm founded by William Henry Bartlett, the ranch is now a Glendale City Park. Tour the main house and view exhibits of years past. The park is open to visitors daily.
As one of the best golf venues in the Valley, 500 Club Golf Course should be high on your list to check out. Located just three miles west of Interstate-17 on Pinnacle Peak Road, this desert course in North Phoenix features views of the Thunderbird mountains, and desert terrain for play. Built in 1990, and designed by Brian Whitcomb, this par 72, 6,543-yard facility offers a driving range, putting green and a chipping area. The greens are Bermuda grass, and the course offers some water play. Food services are available in the restaurant, or by cart; however, no alcohol is served in the bar. There is a dress code in place at this course, so please dress appropriately and call for additional information.

This park houses a museum about the railroad history of the United States, thanks in part to the Arizona Model Railroading Society. Here, you will see train layouts of all scales in a trail around a whimsical little city full of details. It is a great location for birthdays parties and picnics - they have two party areas. Admission is free but they accept donations to help pay for operational costs. The Adobe Mountain Desert Railroad Park offers free rides in a miniature train through a trail around the desert outside the small museum. It is a great place for family fun.
