Adapted from Gregory Maguire's novel of the same name, Wicked re-tells the story of The Wizard of Oz from the point of view of Elphaba and Glinda, two ofthe witches of Oz. According to this version of the famous story, the wicked witch of the west is a misunderstood character whose complex childhood and dramatic history with several of the story's beloved characters, particularly the Wizard of Oz himself, have attributed to her "wicked" reputation. Written primarily for adults, Wicked raises questions about our contemporary ethical standards.
Cherry Crush is an improvisation show put on by the Cherry ensemble of comedians. Coached by Dana Powell, the Cherries perform Cherry Crush at the iO West Theater, the Los Angeles branch of the iO Chicago, every Monday night. The show features sketch teams that compete to be the audience's true "crush," and the winning team is welcomed back on stage the following week.
