The Lyceum Theatre at Vanguard University is transformed through stunning imagery and wildly imaginative storytelling in "Metamorphoses", the dramatic sensation that took Broadway by storm. Based on Ovid's epic poem of the same name, "Metamorphoses" utilizes a rippling pool of water to bring gods and mortals together in nine timeless and interrelated stories of romance, family, loss and redemption. Written by MacArthur and Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman, this widely acclaimed show explores the inevitability of change and the transformative powers of love.

    The Haunting Of Hill House

Stephen King considers "The Haunting of Hill House" one of the top three horror novels ever written. He isn't alone in his (terrified) admiration: "The New York Times", "The Wall Street Journal", even the notoriously picky Dorothy Parker, all praised Shirley Jackson's novella as the quintessential haunted house story, never to be out-done or out-spooked. Now after two film versions, "The Haunting of Hill House" has been adapted for the stage. Hoping to find "proof" of the supernatural, Dr. Montague rents Hill House, an abandoned mansion with a creepy reputation, and invites a select number of guests to join him there. Quickly, however, their stay goes horrifically awry.

Steven Wright is an American actor, writer and stand-up comedian known for his dry, monotone voice. As a comedian, Wright has developed a devoted following thanks to his unique brand of observational humor that is heavy on comic absurdity and deadpan one-liners. The Massachusetts native released his first comedy album entitled I Have a Pony in 1985, and has since rounded out his resume with a number of headlining specials, tours and bit acting roles. Though the slow, deliberate style that Wright employs might not be up everyone's alley, stand-up fans who appreciate the subtle art of deadpan comedy likely won't be able to find anyone better.

Adapted from both Tim Burton's celebrated film and the Daniel Wallace novel of the same name, Musical Theatre West reels in the West Coast premiere of the musical "Big Fish", the dreamy, touching story of a tall-tale-teller and his son, who wants to know who his father really is. Following a lifetime of spinning made-up yarns of epic adventures, Edward Bloom has entered his final chapter, compelling his son Will to embark on an adventure of his own -- to unravel his real dad from the myths he has created. With music and lyrics by Tony nominee Andrew Lippa ("The Addams Family") and a book by acclaimed screenwriter John August ("Go, Charlie's Angels"), this rollicking fantasy set in the American South is a tribute to the power of dreaming big.
