After the Revolution

5552 East La Palma Avenue
Anaheim, CA 92807
Amy Herzog's "After the Revolution" is a smart, funny portrait of a family that must reconcile a thorny and delicate legacy. As we learn during history teacher Ben Joseph's opening speech commemorating his daughter Emma's graduation from law school, the Josephs' political views lean to the far left. Emma is proud of the Marxist tradition her grandfather Joe started, launching a legal fund to fight social injustice and naming it after him. But when evidence of Joe's spying comes to light, the family is forced to confront questions of honesty and allegiances. See this bold drama at the Chance Theater in Anaheim Hills.

Sweeney Todd In Concert
California Performing Arts TheatreApril 25, 2015 2:00 PM
562 West 4th Street
San Bernardino, CA 92402
Legendary Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim is at his bloody best in "Sweeney Todd", his macabre masterpiece about a barbaric barber and the beastly baker he befriends. Now you can experience the Tony-winning score, which "The New York Times" called "Sondheim's most ravishing," in this special concert performance from Worldwide Theatricals. Set in 19th-century London, the musical tells the tale of a barber on a quest for revenge, who teams up with local pie shop proprietress Mrs. Lovett to slit the throats of customers and destroy the evidence by baking the bodies into pies. A perennial favorite since it premiered in 1979, this darkly comic musical is equal parts haunting and hilarious.
