»Dodge Poetry At Njpac: Shuffle, Cramproll, Paradiddle and Stomp

March 06, 2015 8:00 PM

In rhythmic tap dancing, the dancer's feet are essentially percussion instruments. See tap set to poetry in "Shuffle, Cramproll, Paradiddle and Stomp" at the NJPAC as recognized poets from throughout New Jersey gather for a curated poetry reading and performance, accompanied by Newark resident and world-class tap dancer Maurice Chestnut. West African poet and griot Kurtis Lamkin, along with poets Marjorie Barnes, Michael Cirelli, Saeed Jones and Patrick Rosal, together with Chestnut, perform dynamic word-and-movement duets featuring poetic and tap-dance rhythms. This performance is presented as an extension of NJPAC's participation in the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival.

»Njefp Membership Meeting and Nj Devils Hockey Game

March 06, 2015 3:00 PM

The topic of the NJEFP membership meeting will be Effective Fundraising. During the meeting we will be hosting a panel discussion featuring some of our successful local education foundations. This will be a great opportunity for our members to ask lots of questions and exchange different ideas with all of our members. The dinner will be another networking opportunity for you and will only be open to those who attend the NJEFP meeting. There will be lots of food stations open on the concourse for family members to purchase dinner. The NJ Devils are generously donating the meeting space, dinner and game tickets for our member attendees along with providing the tour for family members during our meeting. Family members must purchase their own game tickets and dinner. Thank you for your understanding.  During this game, the Devils will be honoring Education Foundations in New Jersey. We will have a table on the concourse distributing information about NJEFP and your local education foundations. Additionally, we will have a thirty second PSA played on the Jumbotron during the game. This is a great opportunity for us to improve public awareness of the great work we are all doing to support public education in New Jersey. The Schedule for the day will be: 3:00PM - Registration and Networking 3:30PM - 4:00PM Introductions and Welcome 4:00PM Sharp - Membership Meeting begins 4PM-5:30PM - Membership Meeting 5:30PM - 6:30PM - Networking Dinner (this dinner is only available for meeting attendees) 7PM - NJ Devils vs. Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game If you have friends or family who will be attending the game with you please RSVP for them in Eventbrite, in the "box" that says Friends and Family.  The NJ Devils have graciously offered to give guests of our meeting attendees a tour of the faciltiy during our meeting.  While we do not need an exact headcount we would like to provide a general idea.  We anticipate the tour will begin around 4pm. More information will be coming about the exact time and location for this tour.  If you want to purchase tickets for family members please contact Mike Simonetta at the NJ Devils.  His email is MSimonetta@prucenter.com
