The Episcopal Church of the Ascension here in Lafayette comes from an Anglican ancestry. Typical Louisiana construction, the church was designed by A. Hays Town who used to be a member of the church. Known to be one the most spectacular churches in the area, it has a bell-tower, beautiful stained-glass windows and the ceiling is fashioned like this structure was a ship.
