This combination sports bar/concert venue has everything a local bar needs: a view, strong drinks and entertainment. Throughout the week, there is usually some type of music, from rock to reggae, Boathouse it covered. There is a lack of craft brews here, but the bar does cater to those who enjoy domestic beers and the well-drinks are typically strong. The outdoor patio is always a nice addition to any bar, however the Boathouse does allow smoking, so be forewarned. The menu features all the classics from the American kitchen like wings, burgers, sandwiches, etc. For a list of shows, check the calendar on their website.

»Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery

The Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery is the newest brewery on the Grand Strand. Located at Broadway at the Beach, this brewery has at least 6 different, interesting, brewed beers on tap daily. The food is good, but the menu is limited to appetizers, steaks, seafood and pizzas. A few of the entrees are marinated in ale. There is a kids menu. Pints are $2 and appetizers are half price during happy hour. Open everyday from 11 am onwards.

»Broadway Louie's Grill

Broadway Louie's at Celebrity Square is both arcade and sports pub, with video, arcade and virtual reality games on one side of the bar and on the other, more than 50 screens to watch your favorite teams. Broadway Louie's has karaoke every night and the kitchen serves items like New York-style pizza, subs and various appetizers. Overall, a relaxed place to eat and drink without denting your wallet too much.

»Wet Willie's

Wet Willie's Myrtle Beach is one of the many fun locations throughout the U.S. where guests can have frozen, slushy drinks with names like Call a Cab, Monkey Shine and Shock Treatment. Some of these concoctions are made with 190-grain proof alcohol and are quite strong, however others like the Bahama Mama, Green Apple and Weak Willie are made with lighter alcohol, so teetotalers shouldn't fear. On the menu, the usual pub fare like burgers, wraps and wings keeps diners happy and the staff is really attentive. Wet Willie's has locations throughout the southeastern U.S., which is perfect marketing geography for a daiquiri because of the sweltering heat during the summer.

This club may or not be named after Elton John's famous song Crocodile Rock, but nonetheless, it's appropriate that the piano is featured. Dueling pianos to be exact, where every night jazz aficionados come and listen to a goodhearted musical battle. The talented and outlandish dueling pianists take your requests and then add their own zaniness to them by challenging each other to some advanced fingering techniques. Overall, a nice place to relax which also entails a nice change of pace from the sometimes loud and frenetic dance clubs.

Located at Broadway at the Beach, this hot night spot for socializing gets busy Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. If you like jukebox tunes, a full bar and a happy hour with drink specials and discounted snacks, this is the place to go. The ambiance is relaxed, so dress casual. The two other Sharkey's locations are at 600 North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach and 1900 Highway 17 North in Surfside Beach. -Natasha Lawrence

Part of the Myrtle Beach social scene, this stop along the Broadway at the Beach trail offers full bar service with creative mixed drinks, jello shots and a wide selection of beers. There is no cover charge and there's a bouncer at the front door. It gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights. You can sample almost any drink with a crazy name such as the Triple Bipass or Category 5 Hurricane. »Bodo's German Restaurant & Pub

Bodo's is a mütter und vater restaurant that caters to those who may have a hankering for German essen, or food. To begin, Bodo presents Goulaschsuppe, Erbensuppe (split-pea soup) with seasonal sausage or the Weinbergschnecken (snails in scampi mushroom sauce) for the more intrepid. As entrees, diners will find every type of Schnitzel available, from pork to tenderloin and wiener, it's here. A popular local watering hole, this laidback bar has walls adorned with patron's signatures and decorative light strings. Moe's brings a little style and sun from Southern California to South Carolina. With beach burgers on the menu and truculent monster drinks in fishbowls, summer fun doesn't get any better. The burgers, sandwiches, ribs and seafood are all reasonably priced and the portions gargantuan. Moe's location is also stellar, right on the beach and in the middle of everything Myrtle Beach has to offer.
