»Carlson Oxbow Park

Carlson Oxbow Park is a wetland nature park located on the Little Calumet River. Originally intended for flood control measures, the area was turned into a park in 1998 after the river was straightened. Today, the park is a natural oasis, home to a rich variety of native wildlife, including the woodchuck and eastern cottontail rabbit as well as bird species like the house wren and blue winged teal. »Buckley Homestead County Park

It is a county park and historical museum located in Lowell, Indiana, and is operated by Lake County Parks. It is said to have been built by the Buckleys, who were Irish immigrants to the country. After four generations lived there, they donated the farm to the Lake County Parks in the year 1977. The park has a visitors' center, house museum, the farm and a garden.
