Fort Thomas, KY 41075
Orson Welles made history and scared the living daylights out of America with his 1938 radio drama of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds". Mercury Theatre's groundbreaking radio broadcast of Wells' production caused mass hysteria among listeners, many of whom were convinced that a real alien invasion was taking place. Now you can travel back to that radio studio and relive the magic of a near-forgotten art form in this live theater event recreating one of the most famous radio plays ever produced. Listen as The Company's actors build entire worlds using only their voices and live sound effects on the Fort Thomas Woman's Club stage -- and allow your imagination to bring this science fiction classic to life once more.

1st Saturday Reggae Night With Luciano and Ikronik
Thompson HouseMarch 07, 2015 9:30 PM
24 East 3rd Street
Newport, KY 41071
The second generation roots reggae artist and poet, Luciano, began recording his spiritual music in 1992. His brand of reggae, culture-centric and reflective of his religious beliefs, kept the "Rasta Renaissance" going in the early 1990s following the death of reggae artist Garnett Silk. His song "Shake It Up Tonight" on his 1993 debut album Moving Up, became the #1 UK reggae hit in the same year, though it was a love song and not his usual Rastafarian-driven lyrics. In 2010, Luciano released United States of Africa, his most political album, which dealt with global events and issues. With 19 studio albums, including his 2011 effort, Rub-A-Dub Market, Luciano is a powerful and widely recognizable figure in reggae music.
