    Chita Rivera is an actress, dancer and singer renowned for her work in musical theater. She got her start on Broadway in the 1952 production of Call Me Baby, before landing the iconic role of Anita in the original Broadway production of West Side Story in 1957. Rivera earned her first Tony Award for her role in the 1984 production of The Rink, and despite shattering her leg in a car accident only two years later, would go on to earn the Kennedy Center Honors Award, becoming the first Hispanic woman to receive the award in 2002, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in 2009 for her lustrous career.

Their annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival is a great choice for the kids, complete with hay rides, a haunted house, candle dipping, and of course, a full patch of pumpkins! Located about 20 miles outside of the city center, it is a great choice for a day trip. The farm also has a market which is open for lunch, and all the day's activities are sure to leave you hungry for some good country cooking. The farm is open year round, with festival activities throughout October.

    Zakir Hussain is an accomplished Indian tabla player who has gone on to receive international acclaim for his unique take on the instrument. Hussain was born in Mumbai to a well respected tabla player, Alla Rakha, who taught his son the intricacies of the tabla at a young age. Because of his father's tutelage, Hussain would go on to master the instrument--by age nine he was considered a prodigy and by age 12 he was touring. Having since relocated to the United States, Hussain manages to play an astonishing number of concerts a year (typically upwards of 150) in addition to teaching tabla master classes in San Francisco and Mumbai.
