Spread across 12 acres (4.86 hectares), Wamego City Park is considered to be among the top picnic spots in the state. It features a playground, swimming pools for kids and adults, an open-air pavilion, horseshoe pits, a fishing pond with a huge bridge, tennis courts, gardens and a bandstand. The Schonhoff Dutch Mill (Old Dutch Mill) dating back to 1866 is one of the most-loved attractions in the park. History lovers can walk through the Wamego Museum Complex and find historical buildings imported to the park from different places within the county. The museum also offers a glimpse of the city's chronology since its founding in 1866 through artifacts. Kids can hop in the train for a ride of the park from April through October. Check out the depot that is a shelter for old and new trains. The park is home to the annual Wamego Tulip Festival.
