Equitana Boarding and Riding Stables is a clean, well maintained horse boarding stable with pasture turnout. They offer horseback riding lessons by a friendly and supportive riding instructor.
Folsom Equestrian Center offers dressage lessons, part-time jumping instruction and full-care board. Dressage clinics and schooling shows are planned.
Pinewood Country Club is a member owned semi-private country club. There is a driving range and 18-hole course.

Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge is 23,000 acres of fresh and brackish marshes, all within the city limits of New Orleans. It is the nation's largest urban wildlife refuge. An enormous wading bird rookery can be found in the swamps of the refuge from May until July, while tens of thousands of waterfowl winter in its bountiful marshes.
