Kings of Leon is a Nashville, Tennessee-based rock band that was formed in 1999 by three brothers and their first cousin. With a fusion of Southern rock and blues, the band released a hand full of albums, starting with its debut album Youth & Young Manhood, in 2003, before breaking into mainstream audiences with its 2008 full-length Only by the Night. Fueled by radio hits like "Use Somebody" and "Sex on Fire," the band rose to international recognition and began developing a much more commercially produced sound as its following grew.

Hailing from the city of Perth, Australia, Tame Impala is a neo-psych band that formed in 2007 as the Dee Dee Dums. Fronted by creative leader and guitarist Kevin Parker, the group solidified its rotating cast under the name Tame Impala shortly before signing to the popular Aussie imprint Modular Recordings in 2008. Following the release of its debut LP,Innerspeaker, in 2010, Tame Impala received heavy commercial and critical laudation and the band has been regularly touring with its epic dream pop, space rock, electro-tinged psychedelic jams ever since.

Inspired by Balkan folk and Eastern European gypsy tales, Zach Condon, founder and primary songwriter for the Santa Fe, New Mexico-based band Beirut, has been crafting his own characteristic style of indie folk since 2006, with the release of Beruit's debut album, Gulag Orkestar. By blending elements of American mainstream and subtle experimentation with aforementioned European influences, Condon and his bandmates create memorable tunes that have managed to win over throngs of fans and critics alike.

The Lumineers is a three-piece folk outfit that got its start in 2002 when two of the group's members began writing songs together in New York. After relocating to Denver the duo added a cellist to its lineup--thus solidifying its stripped-down, yet full bodied indie folk sound. The band's 2011 debut single "Ho Hey," featured on the television series Hart of Dixie and a series of Bing commercials, earned The Lumineers instant commercial success that carried through to the release of its self-titled debut album in 2012.
