    »Little Tybee

    July 31, 2014 9:00 PM

Little Tybee is an indie pop group from Atlanta, Georgia that describes itself as a "mini-orchestra" due to the band's ever-increasing number of members. Taking its name from a small island off the coast of Georgia where an undetonated atomic bomb is said to be lost, Little Tybee's songs speak to the individual who loves the world around them, while at the same time being prescient of the possibility that everything one holds dear can be taken away in a blink of an eye. The band's debut album Building a Bomb speaks to this strange dichotomy where our often romanticized view of the world becomes tempered by what we see when we take a closer look.

    »Norma Jean / Night Verses

    August 01, 2014 8:00 PM

Norma Jean is a metalcore band from Atlanta, Georgia, that blends themes of religious imagery into its otherwise hard-lined metal sound. After being founded in 1997, the group toured around the US for several years, where it was able to properly mold its characteristic sound, before entering the studio to record its 2002 debut LP, Bless the Mayter and Kiss the Child. Though the band has fought off naysayers who criticize Norma Jean's Christian metal style, it has nevertheless soldiered on—continuing to maintain a busy recording and touring schedule.
