Freedom Hall is one of the eight venues housed within the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. The arena hosts events such as wrestling competitions, basketball, and ice shows among many, many others. The venue seats around 19,000 spectators, and for smaller events the space can be customized to hold a minimum of 6,000 people. VIP rooms are also available.

Zanzabar is a local institution. Since its opening in 1938 it has changed templates many times, but it has always remained a local watering hole. The recent incarnation has it all, from old-school arcade games and pinball tournament nights to local farm-to-table food and live music, things have surely changed since those prewar days. The food and drinks are outstanding, but a lot of people come just to revert back to their childhood with games like Paperboy, Asteroids, Frogger and Donkey Kong. When you add the live music, this version of Zanzabar appears as if it is the best one in the last 80 years.
Home to the famous Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs represents the first leg of horse racing's Triple Crown (The Preakness and Belmont Stakes are the other two). Aside from witnessing the "Fastest Two Minutes in Sports" (that is if you can procure tickets to the race), it still a great place to visit outside of the first Saturday in May. The season runs from April to November and even if you can't make it to the Derby, you can still wear your favorite hat and order a Mint Julep.
A premier venue for softball matches in the city, the Ulmer Stadium holds a privileged place in the sports events scene of the community. Located in the north part of the campus of the University of Louisville, the stadium can accommodate about 2,200 spectators and even has a press box.
