Bret Michaels & Warrant

Tyler, TX 75707
Before he became an infamous reality television star, Bret Michaels was best known as the lead vocalist of Poison. The glam metal outfit found success after its 1986 debut album, Look What the Cat Dragged In, and Michaels would go on to write several of his most recognizable songs with Poison, including the 1988 power ballad "Every Rose has Its Thorn." Though Poison gained fame as one of the biggest glam rock bands of the 1980s and 1990s, Michaels split off from the band and began to pursue a solo career. He released his debut solo album A Letter from Death Row, the soundtrack for a 1998 movie of the same name that Michaels both directed and stared in, and spent the rest of the decade releasing country rock material. His solo career is largely overshadowed by his participation in the reality dating show Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, which aired in 2007 and continued for three seasons, leading the generation that missed his stint as a rock star to view him as a temporary reality television personality. Michaels continues to record and release new music, including his 2012 album, Get Your Rock On.

Ringo Starr And His All Star Band

Tyler, TX 75799
Few musicians own the bragging rights of having played a pivitol role in the British Invasion, and Ringo Starr is one of them. After changing musical standards as the drummer of the Beatles, Starr quickly developed as a solo artist and eventually colalborated with each of his former Beatles bandmates. In 1970, the same year of the Beatles' break-up, he released two solo albums starting with Sentimental Journey. His on-going and ever-changing project Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, played its first performance in 1989 with Starr on drums and lead vocals. In addition to his work on the Beatles' films, he took on acting roles and appeared in several movies including Martin Scorsese's The Last Waltz.

R. Kelly
Oil PalaceFebruary 15, 2015 7:00 PM
10408 State Highway 64 E
Tyler, TX 75707
Despite a tumultuous career full of brushes with the law and more than a few stylistic missteps, R. Kelly has managed to solidify himself as one the predominant forces of contemporary R&B. Born in Chicago in 1967, Kelly initially entered the music world as a member of the early 1990s group, Public Announcement. It didn't take him long to decide to branch out on his own, however, and in 1993 he released his debut LP, 12 Play. Working within the scope of everything from lite funk and slow jams, to hip-hop and soul, Kelly's career has always retained a chameleon-like ability to adjust to evolving musical styles and tastes. Casual fans may know him as the singer of popular hits such as "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Ignition," but it's the stranger, more ambitious aspects of Kelly's catalog (such as his 22 chapter hip-hopera, Trapped in the Closet) that have kept him an intriguingly enigmatic figure well into the 21st Century. In addition to his solo work, Kelly has produced, remixed, collaborated with or written songs for the likes of Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston.
