    »Fool For Love

    September 17, 2014 7:30 PM

Considered a true American classic, Sam Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Fool for Love" finds a woman named Mae hiding out at an old motel in the Southwest. Eddie, her old flame and childhood friend, shows up and threatens to metaphorically and literally drag her back into the life from which she had fled. Their battle plays out as they trade barbs, heartbreak and painful revelations, taking themselves and audiences on an unforgettable journey from love and attraction to obsession. At once funny and horrific, "Fool for Love" is widely regarded as Shepard's finest work.

    September 17, 2014 1:45 PM

One of the most-anticipated new plays of 2014, "Colossal" is a story of love, family and emotional and physical endurance. Structured like a football game, with four quarters, plus pre-game and halftime shows, it tells the story of Young Mike, a college football player who took a hit in a game that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Throughout the course of the play, he remembers the accident with the help of a live, nine-person football squad onstage. The play stars Michael Patrick Thornton, best known from his role on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off, "Private Practice".

    »Yentl

    September 17, 2014 7:30 PM

A hit on Broadway when it debuted in 1975, the revered drama "Yentl" gets a thrilling new adaptation with a rousing rock-pop score by Jill Sobule, singer-songwriter of the original 1995 hit "I Kissed a Girl." Forbidden from studying the Talmud because of her gender, Yentl disguises herself as a man and sets out for a yeshiva. But when she falls in love, she must decide how far she's willing to go to protect her identity. Based on Isaac Bashevis Singer's classic Yiddish short story, "Yentl the Yeshiva Boy", this powerful tale set in 19th-century Eastern Europe has inspired legions of artists, including Barbra Streisand, who transformed it into a powerful musical film in 1983.
