    »The Big Chicken

Affectionately known as "The Big Chicken," this Kentucky Fried Chicken’s towering painted metal chicken sign with moveable eyes and beak beckons travelers from afar. Created in 1963 for another chicken joint, KFC took over the property in the 1970s and the sign remained. After sustaining significant tornado damage in 1993, a restoration work conducted made this roadside icon to be even sturdier. Visit this KFC outlet if you just want to take a look at the gander or grab a bite to eat. Be sure to check out the historic photos and souvenir shop inside.
