Arts & Museums
Located in one of the oldest houses in the city, this museum features a doll collection, a collection of photos of early settlers and events, period furniture, and other items related to the history of the area. One of the finest examples of Greek revival architecture remaining in Texas today. Designated as a Texas Historical landmark and designated for the National Register of Historic Places from the Department of the National Parks Service. Open by appointment.
Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History's mission is to preserve and protect natural and cultural history, stimulate its understanding, and encourage responsible stewardship of all natural and cultural resources. This is done by the preservation of artifacts and natural specimens and exhibits and educational programming; and the cooperative partnerships with arts and cultural organizations, community oriented entities, and academic institutions throughout the Brazos Valley.
The mission of the Children's Museum of the Brazos Valley is "to provide a child-centered, hands-on, interactive environment for learning and discovery for children."
