»Willie Nelson

March 30, 2015 7:00 PM

During the outlaw-country movement in the '70s few artists were as respected as Willie Nelson. His renegade aura as well as his reputation as somewhat of a drifter helped bolster his notoriety and cement his place in country music. Though many of his peers in the '70s have faded into pop culture oblivion, Nelson has managed to stay relevant - constantly reinventing himself and his sound with dabbles into various forms of music including reggae, blues, jazz and lounge.

»Circa Survive

April 01, 2015 8:00 PM

Even though the emo music genre has come to be looked at with overarching disdain by most people, there are still a few bands out there that create music that falls into the emo category. One of these groups is the Philadelphia-based group Circa Survive. The band was formed in 2004 and even though most of the band's peers have fallen by the wayside, Circa Survive has somehow managed to, er, survive. The group's stunning instrumental ferocity might account for the band's popularity and with an ardent touring schedule, the band has managed to attain instrumental dexterity and remain a noted fixture of the decaying emo movement.

»Buckcherry

April 02, 2015 8:00 PM

Formed in Los Angeles in 1995, Buckcherry is a rock band that received commercial success with its 1999 self-titled debut album. Despite its early boost in record sales, the band dissolved in 2002 after a disappointing sophomore effort and an unfinished third album. During the hiatus, front man Josh Todd and guitarist Kieth Nelson collaborated on other projects including a short run with Guns N' Roses members that was eventually canned. Todd and Nelson reformed Buckcherry in 2005 and released the album 15 to the same enthusiasm and critical acclaim as the band's debut effort. With its rediscovered success, the band toured as part of Mötley Crüe's Crüe Fest, shortly after releasing Black Butterlfy in 2008, and accompanied KISS on its 2009 to 2010 North American tour. Buckcherry dropped its fifth studio album All Night Long, in 2010.
