The Alabama State Hornets are the teams that compete on behalf of Alabama State University in the NCAA's Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference. Based out of Montgomery, Alabama, the Hornets have a proven track record of producing players who are able to perform admirably in the heat of battle and win games for their school. Though the university hosts a number of sports teams, such as bowling and volleyball, it is probably best known for its baseball, basketball and football teams.

Comedy Veteran and Radio Personality Rudy Rush Brings 5-Star Entertainment to the House that Blues Built   Houston, TX Houstons House of Blues has a new leading man. Stand-up comic and veteran D.J. Rudy Rush will host a new monthly show at the famed venue, beginning December 27th. Stand-up comedy, poetry and of course live music will fill the air with the charismatic Rush orchestrating the evening. This is Rudy Rushs official debut as a Houston-based comic. The multi-talented funny man first gained popularity in New York, and then in Dallas. Last year, he secured the plum 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. weekly drive time slot on Clear Channel Communications 93.7 The Beat.   The New York native gained notoriety as a radio personality while working on nationally-syndicated radio shows including The Ride with Doug and DeDe and The Doug Banks Morning Show. In 2000 he landed the role as host of Showtime at the Apollo, making him the youngest host of the longest-running African-American syndicated show. Success is not a solitary achievement, says Rush. Im surrounded by a great group of professionals at the radio station and I am part of a talented lineup of artists who appreciate the value of focus and hard work. Its a win-win. Sol-Caritas President Carlos Wallace says, Sol is made up of a diverse, outstanding group of artists successful in their own right, yet committed to the growth of the team. No one artist will ever be more important. Together, we are a force to be reckoned with. Rudy adds a body of work and spirit of support that compliments this philosophy, and makes him a perfect fit to host the new show at House of Blues   To order tickets for the Rudy Rush Hour Comedy Series, go to www.sol-caritas.com  or www.houseofblues.com.

Big Head Todd And The Monsters
House of Blues HoustonJanuary 31, 2015 7:30 PM
1204 Caroline Street
Houston, TX 77002
Big Head Todd & The Monsters play a characteristic form of heady jam rock that was pervasive throughout the Rocky Mountain region in the 90s. The group was formed in Boulder, Colorado in 1986 and after gigging around its home turf during its formative years, The Monsters took their show on the road and delivered the goods to a wide swath of America. The band has been at it for several years now and is considered a road-worn and ready-made touring outfit that can rock as hard as it ever has and comprise spontaneous instrumental jams at the flick of a switch.
