Missouri-born David Cook is the winner of American Idol's seventh season, and despite a limited output since, is still in the hearts of many. Unlike many of the previous Idol contestants, Cook is decidedly an alternative rock artist, taking after 1990s greats like Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20. Cook's debut album was produced by Rob Cavallo, famous for his work with Green Day, My Chemical Romance and Kid Rock.

Cincinnati, OH 45202
NO BS! Brass is a jazz/funk band from Richmond, Virginia that mixes New Orleans jazz and with modern East Coast funk. The majority of its members classically trained, thus the ensemble celebrates refined musical excellence while drawing inspiration from the rowdiness of rock and roll and the cool, colorful chaos of jazz. The ten-piece released its debut album, Where Is Stefan? in 2007, demonstrating its brass-heavy instrument repertoire of four trombones, three trumpets, an alto saxophone, a tuba and a set of drums. Known for performing original material as well as hits from the 1970s and 1980s during its live shows, No BS! Brass lights up dance floors with the familiar feel of contemporary pop/rock mixed with the retro atmosphere of big bands.
