There is a prime focus on comfort and informality as the church doesn't expect the worshiper to dress up on Sunday mass and wear whatever they are comfortable in. There is a wide variety of children's programs available to encourage young families to join. Some of them are Sunday school classes, vacation bible schools, children's church, a caravan and a nursery ministry, the details of which can be viewed on the church's website. Zion Reformed United Church of Christ dates back to 1770 and is Washington County's oldest church. It rose to prominence when the Union army converted its bell tower into a lookout point during the famous Battle of Gettysburg.
