Villa de Paz Golf Course was designed by Greg Nash and Jeff Hardin and built in 1976. Tight, challenging fairways open to spacious greens on this Par-72 course—offering one of the most difficult Par-4s in Arizona (the 18th hole narrow fairway is guarded by sand and followed by a water-protected three-tiered green). Enjoy this course all year round, with tee times accepted 7-days in advance. Open guest policy is in force at this location. Greens fees are subject to change, please call for current information.

Sporting the fastest one-mile oval in the world, Phoenix International Raceway track is home to championship motor sports events for NASCAR, IRL, USAC and AMA. Also home to the Nascar Winston Cup Series Checker Auto Parts/Dura-Lube 500, this track has gained popularity in recent years. Recent expansions with more planned are a result of capacity crowds. The Estrella Mountain Ranch Golf Club offers challenging play in the midst of breathtaking beauty. The course is designed to accommodate golfers with varying abilities by offering several tee placements to match skill with distance. Following in his father's legendary footsteps, Jack Nicklaus II's upscale daily-fee championship course is golf in the traditional sense challenging yet forgiving, and always spectacular. Fairways roll across the natural contours of the land, while elevated tees unveil views of the Sierra Estrella Mountains. In keeping with the philosophy of Nicklaus Design, the course blends in with its environment and incorporates natural desert vegetation. The diverse terrain of this 7,102-yard course complies with Jack II's goal of offering variety. "I want people to step away from my course having used every club in their bag," he says.
Surprise Stadium is nestled within the Surprise Recreation Campus and is the spring training center for the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers. Built in 2002, the state-of-the-art double-tiered stands can hold more than 10,500 and welcomes local fans and baseball enthusiasts visiting the city. The facility features a well-maintained turf, top-grade flood lights and stellar fitness amenities. Maryvale Golf Course is an 18-hole facility designed by William Bell. The course features 6,500 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 with a course rating of 69.8 and a slope of 115. Maryvale has become well-known for its excellent practice facilities and its popular junior golf school, which instructed many of Arizona's golf professionals. Maryvale Golf Course offers a medium-length layout which will reward good shots and provide a fun golf outing for everyone.
With mature trees, rolling terrain and spectacular mountain views, Arizona Traditions Golf Club typifies a classic park-like setting. This spectacular par-70 by Dick Bailey does a wonderful job of blending traditional style golf where fairways are adjacent to each other, while still interacting with the desert surroundings. The golf course feels expansive and comfortable for beginners, yet its strategic bunkering and undulating greens provide a challenge to test accomplished players. As an In Celebration of Golf Management facility, this is one of the most unique golf courses in the valley and is sure to fulfill every golfer's passion for the game. The 4,000-square foot golf shop highlights an excellent inventory of golf apparel as well as golf-themed art and furnishings.
Maryvale Park is a great place to hang out and if you're a sports buff then its even better! Baseball, basketball and soccer are all played here. The park also provides a slew of fun activities like shuffleboard, an exercise course and a swimming pool. For those looking for something less frenetic, there is always the recreational building that provides art and sculpture activities.
Visit a sweet nine-hole public course that has satisfied little golf cravings for more than 30 years. A Milton Coggins design, this course offers 4,806 yards from long tees. Find a particularly interesting double-water challenge on the ninth hole. Tee times are accepted seven days in advance, and this facility offers an open guest policy. Glen Lakes Municipal Golf Course is a perfect little afternoon business-style course, which offers a clubhouse and driving range. Greens fees are seasonal. Rent a cart for an additional amount and call the pro-shop for reservations.
Return to an earlier time when you visit Sahuaro Ranch Park, a lovely historic park built in the 1890s. Seven original buildings set on 16-acres are home to rabbits, chickens and peacocks. Originally a citrus farm founded by William Henry Bartlett, the ranch is now a Glendale City Park. Tour the main house and view exhibits of years past. The park is open to visitors daily.
Boasting a regulation NHL sized skating rink, Polar Ice is actually an arena comprised of two skating rinks. For those who harbor dreams of making it to the NHL one day, ice skating and hockey lessons are available. There is also an arcade for your little ones.
