The Riverside Golf Course, located in Old Hickory, Tennessee, is the perfect place for those beginning to golf or those who enjoy a leisurely course. Open to the public, the Riverside Center includes a nine-hole executive course which is ideal for new players, but is also useful for experienced golfers wishing to work on their game. In addition to the executive course, Riverside offers the Farm Lakes regulation course which is a par 70 course with nine holes including water challenges. Two Rivers Golf Course is one of Nashville's oldest and features fast greens and open fairways. Popular with novice and experienced golfers, the par 72 course offers a fair amount of challenge. Tee times are available as early as 7am, and while a reservation is not required, it is highly encouraged. Foursomes are also encouraged, and standard course attire of collars, cuffs and soft spikes is requested.
nRange offers Hendersonville guests a full indoor firing range with services. Visitors can rent firearms, shooting range lanes, ammunition and practice targets. The range also offers handgun carry permit classes, basic training on firearm safety as well as personal protection equipment, surveillance systems, and safe rooms. This par 70 public course, located 20 minutes north of Nashville, called Country Hills Golf Course is well maintained. Whether you are a novice or an experienced golfer, you will find the tight fairways a real challenge. The pro shop offers a full line of clubs, clothing and accessories. The 18 hole course is also available for private parties, corporate events and tournaments.
Shuckle's Corn Maze offers guests a safe and entertaining outdoor activity filled with all the fun of a farm on a beautiful fall day. Open from the 28th of September to the 4th of November on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, it is a great place for families to explore together. Group reservations are accepted from Tuesdays to Fridays. In addition to the seven acre (2.83 hectares) corn maze, Shuckle's also has pony rides, hay rides, face painting, farm games and play areas for the little ones. After dark, Shuckle's is great for older kids, groups and couples as the corn maze goes completely dark and guests must bring flashlights in order to navigate the maze.
The Historic Edgefield district, known for its Victorian houses and artists' bungalows, is home to one of the city's oldest parks. Sloping terrain, tiny Lake Sevier and old trees provide peaceful seclusion at the Shelby Park and Golf Course. Come in the daytime for a picnic or to feed the ducks. Trails are available for rollerblading and cycling in addition to softball, tennis court and playground facilities to keep you entertained. The adjacent 72-par Bermuda greens golf course is open to public throughout the week.
There are few things more exhilarating than being chased through a dark maze of obstacles. You can experience this thrill at Laser Quest in downtown Nashville. Strap on a laser rifle and chase your friends around the obstacle course. The rifles shoot an invisible, harmless beam of light. If you hit your target, your rifle records the "kill". The laser tag game is perfect for either children's parties or corporate recreation. If you plan on bringing a large group, call ahead to reserve the course.
