    Shoppers from Richmond and Fredericksburg come to the Commons to browse through the more than 90 stores here. Recently built in 1998, the mall has stores like Bath and Body Works, the funky Up Against the Wall and department stores like Hechts and Dillard's. A Mall Perks frequent shopper program allows shoppers to earn a point for every dollar spent at the mall. There is also a credit card offered, Mall VIP, that can be used anywhere. Virginia Center Commons is on Route 1, a half-mile north of I-95 near the Henrico/Hanover County line.

    Over one hundred shops fill Willow Lawn Shopping Center in the West End—Dillards department store, Tower Records and Hannaford Grocery are a few of the larger ones. Willow Lawn also has the largest Bombay Company and Foot Locker stores in the area. After finding just what they are looking for, shoppers can stop in for a palm or tarot reading at the Aquarian Bookstore. Lunch at Ruby Tuesdays or in the food court is also a nice way to take a break and set down the bags full of goodies for a while.

In August, the street comes to life with the Watermelon Festival.
