The Scott County Jail Complex is a finely structured jail complex in and occupies massive historical relevance. It is placed in the Georgetown region of Kentucky. It functioned as the Scott County Jail from its establishment in 1892 until 1990. At present, the building site is home to the renowned Scott County Arts and Cultural Center. The distinguished arts building is designated as a Kentucky Landmark. Tracing the Italianate and the Romanesque styles of architecture, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The historic Cardome Centre is situated in Georgetown, Kentucky. James F. Robinson, the Kentucky governor at the time of the American Civil War resided at this property.The word "Cardome" derived from the Latin 'Cara Domas', means 'dear home'. The historic property is available on rent to host weddings, meetings and other events.
Established in 1978, Kentucky Horse Park aims at providing visitors with knowledge regarding horses. Multiple restaurants located on-site offer guests a refreshing break. International Museum of the Horse, American Saddlebred Museum, the memorial and sculpture park gives visitors deeper insight into the history and varieties of horses. Southern Lights is an exciting drive-through animated light display. Youngsters can pet reindeer and other creatures in the Petting Zoo and talk to Santa. Shop for handmade crafts, or just enjoy cookies and hot chocolate as you listen to area choirs and other entertainers. Hours are 5:30 to 10 p.m. mid-November through December.
