Arts & Museums
The GMA features works of Southern art and artists and houses an extensive permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and prints. In addition, the museum hosts a series of changing exhibits featuring the works of local and regional artists. The GMA also fosters an awareness and appreciation of local history through exhibiting artifacts, antique properties, furniture, photographs, and items of historical significance of the Gadsden and Etowah County area. Perhaps the most unique feature of GMA , combining both art and history, is the Virtual Museum, open 24/7, in the windows of the businesses on Broad Street.
Home to visual art displays, performing arts, art studios, and a museum for children called Imagination Place. The center also features the world's largest site and date specific model railroad, a dinner theater, and recital hall. There are complete convention and banquet facilities, a full-service restaurant, and a New Orleans style courtyard with live entertainment on the weekends.
This Gadsden State Community College performing arts center is host to a variety of events and performances throughout the year. Having undergone a renovation in 2011, the facility features state-of-the-art lighting and sound.
