Wynton Marsalis is a well-known jazz trumpet player from New Orleans. He started playing the trumpet when he was 12 years old and went on to study at Juilliard School of Music in New York. Since 1982, he has been working as a solo artist and his debut albumWynton Marsalis was released in 1983. »Roomful Of Blues

    July 30, 2014 8:30 PM

Back when swing bands were all the rage, individuals who didn't like the popular style of music were considered squares. Since the glory days of poodle skirts, hot rods, knife fights and swing bands, things have changed a bit and the true swing groups are few and far between. Luckily, one group that is still fighting the good fight for the swing revival is the horn-heavy outfit Roomful of Blues. The band has been around since the late 1960s and has experienced a number of line up changes, but all the time spent on the road has undoubtedly given the group experience that few swing bands posses.
