    »Fort Worth Cats Baseball

    July 30, 2014 7:05 PM

The breezy thrill of outdoor summer professional baseball takes many forms -- one of them being games played by the Fort Worth Cats of Texas' United League. Unaffiliated with Major League Baseball, United League is an independent entity with plenty of talent of its own, including former MLB players and up-and-coming players on their way to the MLB. Playing beneath the big blue sky at lovely LaGrave Field, the Cats will take on first place Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings in the coming weeks along with the other two teams in their league, Brownsville Charros and San Angelo Colts. With fun promotions ranging from Scout Night to country fun presented by radio station 95.9 The Ranch, you can't lose at a Fort Worth Cats game. See the description for a schedule of upcoming games and promotions.

    »Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra

    July 30, 2014 8:00 PM

Ottmar Liebert is a German-born guitarist who is widely known for his distinctive take on a modern flamenco style. Born to a Chinese-German father and a Hungarian mother, Liebert spent a good amount of his youth traveling throughout Europe and Asian before picking up a guitar at the age of 11. After moving to Boston in the mid-1980s, Liebert played in a number of rock bands before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico in pursuit of a new music style. Influenced by the hypnotic desert landscape, Liebert honed his own original spin on flamenco music and released his debut album Marita: Shadows & Storms, in 1989, garnering respect and notoriety among followers of new age jazz music. Having released nearly an album a year over the last three decades, including 2012's Dune, Liebert continues to bridge classic flamenco techniques with modern sounds.
