Hailing from the Midwest, Jon Wayne and The Pain is a reggae rock band that mixes elements of ska, dub, alternative rock and reggae. The band dropped its eponymous debut album in 2008 followed by its 2011 record, Follow Through, and collected a dedicated fan base a long the way. Known for its nearly constant touring schedule, the band has evolved its live shows to include elements of electronic dub for a more club dance floor vibe.

The North Dakota Bison represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. The university is a member of the NCAA's Division I and competes in the Summit League and the Missouri Valley Football Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). North Dakota State always maintains an impressive football program, as proven by its back-to-back FCS national titles in 2011 and 2012. Other men's and women's programs sponsored by the university include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, volleyball, soccer, softball and wrestling teams.

Few singers are lucky enough to have a voice that's extremely recognizable and entirely representative of the vocalist's entire sonic ethos. Somehow Ohio-born singer/songwriter Macy Gray was born with one such voice and ever since she burst onto the scene with her smash hit single "I Try" off her 1999 debut album Oh How Life Is, Grey has become widely known amongst the general listening public for her raspy croon.

Seether is a post-grunge band from South Africa that was formed in 1999 by Shaun Morgan Welgemoed, Dale Stewart and Dave Cohoe. Under that name Saron Gas, the band released its debut album Fragile, in 2000 before adopting the name Seether before the release of 2002's Disclaimer. Its sophomore effort earned the band national fame and eventually international recognition after Seether was chosen as the opening act for Evanescence's world tour. The band signed a record deal with Wind-Up Records and moved to the US where it honed its post grunge/alternative metal sound on albums such as 2007's Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces, and 2011's Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray.

Formed in New York in 1999, Taking Back Sunday is an alternative rock band that experienced a considerable amount of commercial success throughout the 2000s. After independently releasing its full-length debut Tell All Your Friends, in 2002 and its follow up Where You Want To Be, in 2004, Taking Back Sunday began earning increasing amounts of mainstream exposure and eventually signed a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records in 2006. The band's major label debut Louder Now, earned widespread critical acclaim and earned the respect of international audiences as well as its faithful following from its independent days. Despite major changes to its lineup, Taking Back Sunday continues to be a driving force behind contemporary alternative rock with releases such as its 2011 eponymous record.
