Composed of over 30 artists Snarky Puppy is a musical collective from Denton, TX that creates a fusion of jazz and progressive rock music. Led by composer, producer and bassist Michael League, the band came to life in 2004 while many of its members were students at the University of Northern Texas. The jazz fusion sound of Snarky Puppy's debut release, 2005's Live at Uncommon Ground, was well-received by its college peers, but it was the band's follow up album The Only Constant, which catalyzed a tour after its release in 2006, that widened the band's audience beyond its Texas roots. League is highly regarded in jazz circles as one of the drivers behind nu jazz and was featured in Cicily Janus's 2010 book, The New Face of Jazz: An Intimate look at today's living legends and the artists of tomorrow.

Lisa Lampanelli is a stand-up comedian from Trumbull, CT whose irreverent brand of comedy tries its hardest and mostly succeeds at casting her as one of the more controversial figures on the US comedy scene today. Now a regular guest at the New York Friar's Club Roasts for her particularly biting, insult-driven comic style, her big break in comedy actually occurred during one of her first Roast performances for Chevy Chase in 2002. It wouldn't take long of Lampanelli to begin capitalizing upon her success as a roaster par excellence, beginning with a series of specials on cable TV and DVD that would further entrench the comedian into the consciousness of mainstream comedy audiences.

Nonpoint is a heavy metal band that forged a name for itself in the bustling metal scene of South Florida with its formula of nu metal and hard rock. Formed in 1998 as trio, the band independently released its debut album, Separate Yourself, before signing with the late Jugular Records and releasing Struggle, in 1999. When its label decayed only a year later, the band signed with major label MCA Records and released Statement, in 2000 and embarked on a national tour that included appearances on the Ozzfest tour of 2001. With each subsequent album, Nonpoint began to break into the realm of mainstream rock, particularly at the middle to end of the 2000s with the release of 2005's To the Pain, and 2007's Vengeance.
