»Lila / Io / The Droogies

Lila When childhood friends began recording in a fiberglass padded playhouse the product was proof of their power. A group that uses hip-hop to motivate and accentuate the qualities of the other genres we love, LiLa shies from no sound. They are proof that hip-hop can take any direction and be successful while still staying true to the integrity of quality music. When did LiLa get Live? In order to reproduce the energy of LiLa's early album recordings, the group knew a bigger team could do more damage, so they brought on an electrifying squad that would take LiLa to the next level. With Griffin hitting the drums like a weight room and Rosean playing the deepest basslines, shows became mandatory. The icing on this cold ensemble is the psychedelic riffing of Kyle on guitar and the spicy blowing of Mike P on his trombone. LiLa harnesses a great energy, the question is, what will YOU do with it? https://www.facebook.com/LiLaWho io io was a rock band formed in Durham, NC in June 2001 by members of Triangle-area bands Vecordia and Strunken White. The original lineup of Ben Flanagan, Geoff Register, John Booker and Eric Kuhn quickly relocated to San Francisco, CA where they were based for most of their active 4-year run. Within the first few months of living in CA, io teamed up with San Francisco native, Jamie McGoldrick making the band a 5 piece with soaring 3-part guitar and vocal harmonies. Touring the US several times, io played legendary venues from coast to coast (Cats Cradle - NC, Knitting Factory NYC & LA, The Casbah San Diego, Slims/The Independent San Francisco), winning over crowds with their 90s alternative-inspired music.   The band called it quits in 2005 with members going on to lead acts such as The Trophy Fire, Black Map, I Was Totally Destroying It, Silian Rail, Eric + Erica, Sleepsound, and Violent Dreams but will reunite the original lineup for one night only Friday, December 26th at Motorco Music Hall in Durham, NC. io's full catalog can be streamed and downloaded at https://iorock.bandcamp.com/  https://www.facebook.com/iowillrockyou  In the Showroom Doors @ 8:00 PM Show @ 9:00 PM ALL AGES!
