»A Bronx Tale Starring Chazz Palminteri

January 31, 2015 8:00 PM

Written and originally performed by Chazz Palminteri, A Bronx Tale is an autobiographical one-man show that follows the story of Calogero Anello. Born into a working class family, he becomes infatuated with the idea of the Mafia and enters into the realm of organized crime when Sonny, the local mob boss, takes him under his wing. Torn between his father's down-home values and the glamorized life of a ganster, he navigates the turbulent waters of the Bronx. The production debuted in Los Angeles in 1990, and on a wave of critical acclaim, made its way to New York City for an Off-Broadway run.

»Xpn Welcomes San Fermin To The Gild Hall In Arden

January 31, 2015 8:30 PM

San Fermin is the musical project of Brooklyn-based artist Ellis Ludwig-Leone. Classically trained in music composition, he isolated himself for six weeks in the mountains between Alberta and British Columbia after graduating from Yale and eventually emerged with his eponymous debut album as San Fermin in 2013. Along with various contributors such as Holly Laessig of Lucius and his long-time friend Allen Tate, Ludwig-Leone captured a baroque pop sound filled with themes of youth, anxiety and nostalgia.

»James Maddock

January 31, 2015 8:00 PM

James Maddock was originally lumped in with John Mayer, David Gray and the rest of the crop of acoustic singer/songwriters that popped up in the early 2000s. His mellow approach and sensitive, confessional lyrics seemed poised to strike a chord with folk pop listeners, and sure enough, he soon found himself contributing songs to popular television shows and touring all over the world with Paula Cole and Train. Rather quickly, however, mainstream interest in Maddock's career died down without it ever really reaching the level that had earlier seemed imminent. Regardless, he's carried on and continues to release albums full of tender ballads and delicately arranged modern folk that have helped him find a recent resurgence of followers.
