    »Bonnie & Clyde

    September 21, 2014 2:00 PM

It was once said of the infamous his-and-her gangster team of Bonnie and Clyde, "They're young. They're in love. They kill people." And now, thanks to this rousing and breathlessly exciting new musical, you can add a fourth description: They sing. Composed by Frank Wildhorn ("Jekyll & Hyde") with lyrics by Academy Award winner Don Black ("Sunset Boulevard"), "Bonnie & Clyde" weaves rockabilly, blues and gospel music into the story of how two small-time nobodies in West Texas became America's most notorious folk heroes. Runaway Stage Productions presents the regional premiere of this Tony-nominated tale of love, adventure and crime.

    »Red

    September 21, 2014 2:00 PM

Winner of six 2010 Tony Awards including Best Play, "Red" by John Logan took Broadway by storm with its provocative portrait of an artist's ambition and vulnerability. Having just landed the biggest commission in modern art history, 20th-century abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko works feverishly in his studio with his brash young assistant, Ken. As Rothko nears completion of what he hopes will be his crowning achievement, he faces the possibility that the project could also become his undoing. Set amid the swiftly changing cultural tide of the early 1960s, "Red" is a startling snapshot of a brilliant artist at the height of his fame.

    »The Merchant Of Venice

    September 21, 2014 2:00 PM

Themes of humanity, dignity, revenge, cruelty, religion and greed are all explored in "The Merchant of Venice", one of Shakespeare's most powerful dramas. This classic tale showcases the tenacity of young love and calls into question the prejudices and beliefs of Renaissance-era Venice, offering ethical and philosophical musings that resonate with audiences to this day. "Merchant" features one of Shakespeare's most tragic and controversial figures, the vengeance-seeking moneylender Shylock. And the clever and well-spoken Portia -- whose intelligence shines every bit as brightly as her beauty -- is also among his most fully developed and complex heroines.
