John Mayall

Decatur, GA 30030
One of the blues revival pioneers of 1960s England, John Mayall is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and the founder of The Bluesbreakers. As the front man of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, he led a number of now iconic musicians such as Mick Tayler of The Rolling Stones, Peter Gren of Fleetwood Mac and Eric Clapton at the beginning of their careers. In 1968, he turned to a more experimental sound and disbanded his group, though the band reformed in 1982 only to officially breakup again in 2008 so Mayall could pursue other solo projects with various collaborators. With a staggering discography and a career that spans over half a century, Mayall is already cemented in music history as a father of English blues though he continues to perform around the world today.
