Scotty Barnhart is an acclaimed jazz trumpeter and composer, but he's perhaps best known as the leader of the famed Count Basie Orchestra. For the past 20 years, Barhnhart has served as the leader of the world's most famous jazz band, making highly regarded recordings and winning two Grammy Awards in the process. But he also shines as a solo performer, having recorded with everyone from Tony Bennett and Ray Charles to Wynton Marsalis and Tito Puente. His playing has earned him praise from top jazz authorities. Catch his set at The Velvet Note and see if you agree.
