    Gavin Degraw
    Atlanta Botanical GardenAugust 01, 2014 8:00 PM
    1345 Piedmont Avenue Northeast
    Atlanta, GA 30309
Gavin DeGraw attended Berklee College, one of the most respected music institutions in the United States, and writes all his own songs--a rare feat for many modern pop stars. Though he developed a following playing in small Manhattan venues, eventually opening in the roots-Americana venue The National Underground with his brother, DeGraw received his break when teen drama One Tree Hill chose his song "I Don't Want to Be" as its theme song. His fame has only grown from this, and DeGraw continues to release hit alternative pop-rock anthems.

Guyi-guyi: The Other Ugly Duckling By Periferia Teatro De Títeres
Center for Puppetry ArtsAugust 01, 2014 12:00 PM
    1404 Spring Street Northwest
    Atlanta, GA 30309
Reminiscent of Jim Henson at his most adventurous, Periferia Teatro de Títeres, the acclaimed Spanish puppet company, takes storytelling to a new level with their dramatic and inventive stage productions. Now, performing in both English and Spanish, they bring to life "Guyi-Guyi: The Other Ugly Duckling", an ingenious retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen classic. Accidentally born into a family of ducks, Guyi-Guyi is a happy-go-lucky crocodile ... until he meets another croc and discovers his "true" nature. After learning that he is not like his feathered siblings, Guyi-Guyi must embark on a journey of self-discovery to find out who he really is. Each ticket includes admission to both the Center for Puppetry Arts museum and the Create-A-Puppet Workshop (or To-Go Kit), where you can make your own duckling rod puppet to take home.
