The Cider House is The Valarium's sister-establishment, meaning that they're both under the same management. Incidentally, they share the same contact information, so if you call and hear The Valarium, don't panic, you've got the right place. The Cider House is located directly next to The Valarium which makes both easy to find. Cider House's concert and event line-up is intermingled with Valarium's line-up on The Valarium's webpage so make sure you have the right venue when you're purchasing tickets and when you arrive the night of the event.
Kick back and relax with a couple of friends at The Preservation Pub as you listen to some great live music. Happy hour specials and beer, lunch and dinner menus are available.
Located in Knoxville's Old City, the Pilot Light is a popular nightclub/bar. Most known for the musical acts it hosts, this club has had Indie bands like the Black Keys and Deerhunter perform on its stage. A quaint little place, this club can get crowded pretty quickly, so it is recommended to head early in order to save a seat. See the website for more information.
The décor is multi-colored furniture, surrealistic murals, mosaic floor, and bookshelves with numerous tomes. Performance artists and musicians make this an interactive coffeehouse. Start the morning with a bagel and some cream cheese ($2). Lunch offers wraps, soups, and fresh sandwiches, including Java chicken sandwich (half sandwich $2.50, whole sandwich $4) with white chicken and a pineapple and curry seasoning. Freshly brewed coffee complement the delicious desserts, providing the perfect ending to a delightful dining experience.
Not since the ill-fated Chameleon Club has Chattanooga enjoyed such an eclectic mix of people in one club. This newly opened (and, one hopes, long standing) club features a large dance floor, loud music, rude servers and the occasional live band. In other words, it is a perfect nightclub. College students are the primary patrons here, but it is not unusual to find the "older crowd" in attendance. In fact, there is nothing deemed unusual here. As the nights turn to morning you will find yourself dancing with an interesting cross section of society. $3 cover charge at the door.
